Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) meet up Mr. Zainal Abiddin Bin Jaffar; Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council on Thursday, 19 September 2013. The meeting was held at the CEO’s office in PERKIM Building, Jalan Ipoh in Kuala Lumpur. The meet was held to discuss further on the students funding for the Malaysian students in Egypt who was brought back home due to the unforeseen situations in the Middle East.
In the session, Mr. Zainal Abiddin Bin Jaffar expressed his concerns on the situation of the Malaysia-Egypt students and proposes to use the religious council funds for the students of Al-Azhar in Egypt to continue their academic studies in MEDIU. The Islamic Religious Council of Federal Territory expresses their concern and aspiration to provide funding opportunities for MEDIU’s students residing particularly in federal territory areas which includes Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
MEDIU’s were represented by the Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman; Mr.Shahrin Ab Rahman; Head of Marketing and Mr. Jamaluddin Hussain; Head of Public Relations. MEDIU’s expressed in the meeting on their willingness to accommodate places for the students of Al – Azhar to continue their studies via conventional learning method in the University’s which is based in Shah Alam, Selangor.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman clarified on a total of 90% MEDIU’s academic learning modules were adopted from the Al-Azhar University in the field of Islamic Studies and Arabic language. Thus this will enable the students to adapt quickly to the university’s environment and easier for the process of credit transfer. Furthermore, most of the lecturers derived were mainly originated from the Middle East regions who graduated from the world well-known Islamic universities such as Al-Azhar University, Islamic University of Madinah and University of Jordan.
He also states on his delightfulness on the trust given by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council in order to assist financial aid for the students. “My heartfelt appreciation to the His Honorable CEO of Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council for the invitation to this meeting and will seize the opportunities to attract the students of Al-Azhar University to ensure that they can further their studies in MEDIU.”
