MEDIU’s Department of Postgraduate Studies(DEPS) take a role in providing support for the University’s postgraduate students to develop the students skills as well to identify problems or issues related to their education during the welcoming session with the new postgraduate students for September 2013 intake on Monday, 23 September 2013.
The session was attended by MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Research and Development Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ab Rahim Ismail, Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr Doukoure Massire, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Abdulsamad Ebrahim Yahya, Deanship Student Affairs; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dr Moussa Oumar Keita as well as representatives from the Department of Postgraduate Studies with a number of 44 new postgraduate students for the intake of September 2013.
The meeting began with a brief presentation on MEDIU’s vision and mission in both languages; Arabic and English. Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr Doukoure Massire extend his welcome remarks to the new students as well as presented on the objectives and goals of MEDIU’s Department of Postgraduate Studies(DEPS) for the benefit and guidance to students.
A detailed presentation on MEDIU’s admission and registration rules and regulations which covers the visa regulations, students housing and accommodation as well as students rules and regulations were also being presented to the students’. Procedures of writing research papers were also being delivered. MEDIU’s Department of Postgraduate Studies(DEPS) stressed on their objectives in providing exceptional services to the postgraduates students at all time.
At the end of the session, Q&A as well as open discussion were held between the students and DEPS on any inquiries and concerns from the new postgraduate students.
