Launching of “1 Malaysia Speaks Arabic” program

Al-Madinah International University or merely known as MEDIU are making its mark in introducing Arabic Short Course by offering 60% discount on the course fees. The launching ceremony of “1 Malaysia Speaks Arabic” program was held on Wednesday, 31 March 2010 (15 Rabi’ul Thani 1431H). The ceremony took place at Shah Alam Learning Center located in Level 8, Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam. The event was officiated by MEDIU’s Honorable Rector; Prof.Dr.Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi, witnessed by His Excellency Mr.Bader A. Al Moqhim, the representative of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kuala Lumpur. The event was broadcasted via Ch9 and participated by other media journalists from Karangkraf publications (Majalah-i, Fokus SPM, Nur, Impiana, I Luv Islam), Sinar Harian, Utusan Malaysia and others.

The launching of the program was quite successful with the participation of representatives from private and government bodies, school’s representatives such as Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia, Selangor Islamic Affairs Department, Learning and Development Department; Proton Holding Berhad, Selangor Mufti Department, Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department and others. The launching ceremony was attended by Hj. Abdul Rahim Bin Hashim; Director of Education & Training (Skills), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Colonel Hj. Nawawi Bin Daud; Deputy Director Department of Religious Corps Armed Forces, Prof. Dr. Saad A. Al-Taan; Cultural Advisor Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, Hj. Ahmad Zamri; Senior Assistant Director, Islamic Education Department, Selangor Department of Education and Siti Nur Hidayah Binti Kusnin; Assistant Director, Education Division Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department.

In his speech, the MEDIU’s Honorable Rector said that the importance of the Arabic language in the Islamic world is of course tied to it being the language of the Al-Quran. Arabic language is one of the great languages of the world and by studying and learning the language thus becoming a part of a world-class education. Thus, MEDIU’s took the initiative to play a role to educate the community on the significance of Arabic language as the potential on the language in the future is very promising.
