Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) held its First Students Scientific Conference on Thursday, 6 June 2013 in MEDIU Headquarters in Shah Alam, Selangor. It was the first conference for the Management and E-Commerce students from the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences; while previously two international conferences were held earlier by the Faculty with the theme on “Islamic Banking” and “Takaful Insurance”.
The welcoming speech of the event was delivered by Mr. Abdul Kadir Mohamed Osman; fulltime lecturer at the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences, followed by Al-Quran recitation of verses by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abdel Aziz; Dean, Faculty of Islamic Sciences. The opening session was given by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mubarak Mohammad Munssour; Dean, Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences. A total of twenty-six (26) students presented their thesis research paper in the conference session. The conference was witnessed by MEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi, MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs; Asst Prof Dr Hj. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman and MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Student Affairs; Dr. Fadlan Mohd Othman. Academician, staff and students were presented as well to give their full support and encouragement to the presenters.
The session was break into four (4) academic sessions with four (4) panel committee administered 6-7 students defending their thesis in each session. The conference which begins at 8:30am ended almost at 6:30pm with Asst. Prof. Dr. Mubarak Mohammad Munssour thanked those who participated in the event and making it a success for the University.
