Deanship of Student Affairs of MEDIU organized seminar for students of Somali

A seminar was held on Sunday 18/04/2012, by the Dean of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Association of Somalis Students of in Malaysia, which was entitled “the skills of personal development.”  The aim of the seminar was to encourage personal development of students and to make them able to avoid “personal defects” that may prevent them from achieving their ambitions. It is worth mentioning that this seminar comes with a series of extra-curricular activities which include training courses and workshops designed to raise the level of cognitive development of students at the university.

The seminar was attended by the Rector of MEDIU, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Mansour, Dean of Student Affairs, and the President of the Somali Student Association in Malaysia Mr. Moulid Mohamed Ahmed.

During the seminar Mr. Abdul Qader Mohammed Osman Lecturer Faculty of Science, Finance and Administration, led the discussion for all papers presented. The first paper was presented by a lecturer at Islamic University Malaysia, Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Razak Abdullah Hashi, titled “Skills to control stress”, followed by Professor Abdel Salam Hussein Mulla who gave a presentation titled “Tools and means to personal development – a case study”, and Prof. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed gave a presentation titled “Positive enthusiasm”.  At the end of the seminar Mr. Abbul Qader Mohammed Osman provided some tips for the students and promised to support their activities and encourage them to participate. After that he distributed certificates to the audience.
