MEDIU’s CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi chaired the 31st Academic Senate Meeting on Thursday, 31 October 2013. The meeting was attended by Deputy CEO from all respective departments and academic deans. Throughout the session, various agenda on academic areas were being addressed and discoursed amongst the senate members.
Among the discussions that have been agreed and approved by the senate members are as follows:
- To approve the promotion of ‘Asst.Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah Elbasyouni’ to ‘Associate Professor’ .
- To approve the promotion of ‘Dr. Fadlan Mohd Othman’ to ‘Associate Professor’ .
- To approve the promotion of ‘Asst. Prof. Dr Daud Abdul Quadir Elega’ to ‘Associate Professor’ .
- To look in to the recommendation by R&D Division on the approval of Deanship, University Development and Quality for the evaluation results for MEDIU’s students for February 2013 intake.
- To approve on the amendment of Article 94 of the Postgraduate Studies regulations, for The Board of Examiners for PhD or Master Project of the Programme(A); comprises of:
- Dean of IPS or Associate Dean – Chairman
- Internal Examiner No.1
- Internal Examiner No.2 – only for PhD
- 4. External examiner No.1 – for Master (or each shall send his report)
- External Examiner No.2 – for PhD and in the case that there is no Internal Examiners No.2.
- Faculty and Department Representatives
- The Supervisor(s) of the candidate – observers
- DEPS Secretary – shall be the Secretary for any Board of Examiner
- To approve the amendment of Article 93 of the Postgraduate Studies regulations, for The Board of Examiners for a Master’s Project of the Programme(B); comprises of:
- Dean of DEPS or his designee
- Internal examiner No.1
- Internal examiner No.2
- Department representatives in the relevant area
- Supervisor – However he cannot attend the committee examinations and interrupt the conversation among examiners.
- DEPS Secretary – shall be the Secretary for any Board of Examiner
- To award ‘SYIROJUL HUDA’; student majoring Master in Qada and Siyasah Shar’iyyah(Structure B) with Grade B (CGPA 3.63)
