Before leaving the country of residence, you must make sure you have the following documents to get a student visa from the Malaysian Embassy in the country of residence:
- Valid passport validity for a period of not less than one year.
- A number of recent photographs, blue background.
- Copy or original copy of the ministerial approval, as well as the admission letter from the university, to get a student visa from the Malaysian Embassy.
A Copy of the payment slips of the initial fees. Remarks: one week before leaving, ensure that you inform the international student unit at Deanship of Student Affairs by sending the airline name and the date of the flight ticket to the customer service at the university, so the department can arrange a pick up from the airport.
Students should know carrying any types of drugs is prohibited and punishable by death in Malaysian law.
Third, the right time to come to the university
It is advisable that the student arrive earlier before the start of the school year, at least two weeks; for the following reasons:
- To catch up with the direction and guidance period, this is very important for the new student.
- To ensure completion of the registration for the chosen program.
- To make sure that there is time to have a look at the facilities offered by the university for all local and international students.
For your safety and convenience, please take into account the following:
- Ensure you carry the address and telephone number of the members of the Deanship of Student Affairs, the international student unit and the deanship of Admission and Registration.
- Make sure you do not overburden yourself by carry cooking utensil, ironing tools, electric machines; they can be found in Malaysia and at very reasonable prices.
- make sure not to leave any hand bag inside the plane.
- Make sure the receipt of all the bags in the arrival lounge.
- Ensure to get the entry stamp from the Immigration Department officer at the airport.
- Ensure the recovery of all the papers presented to the immigration officer at the airport.
- Contact the Student Unit in case of delayed arrivals of the university representative to pick you up from the airport. This applies to students only, family and friends coming with the students are not included. They should have their own transportation and the student should bear all the costs.
You must submit your passport to the foreign student management unit upon arrival to Malaysia to start processing the visa for the student, which might take one week to one month.

Malaysia is of the safest and most secure countries in the world. All residents can travel freely to any of its regions with ease and without any suffering or constraints, but nevertheless you must take the following preventive measures:
- Do not ride in a taxi when is someone else is riding the taxi with the driver, especially when you arrive at the airport, and in remote areas.
- Keep the bag or wallet and stick to it and tighten it by linking it to the back or chest, because there are pickpockets and stealers of bags, especially in tourism areas.
- Do not let your laptop, iPads, or other electronic devices in a prominent place in the car or parking areas.
- Do not travel alone, especially women, but it is advisable to travel in a group.
- Do not walk alone in the street, or use of a mobile phone, or withdraw cash from the bank in the late-night times.
- Seal doors and windows before you go out from the house, and do not put precious and attractive things beside the window, so that you avoid attractions.
Procedures for obtaining a student visa in Malaysia are easy and affordable. The following are the requirements of the obtaining the student visa in Malaysia.
- A final offer letter for full-time courses, including English language training program or Arabic.
- Obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Department of Immigration.
- Financial ability to pay tuition fees, travel expenses, accommodation and living in Malaysia.
- The student is medically fit and he has good conduct.
- The purpose of coming to Malaysia is to study only, and not for other purposes.

Renewal of the student visa:

Method of payment of the required fees
To facilitate the payment required on the student fees, the university provides account number or specific default to each student so that they can pay any fees required from the time they enter the university until they graduate.
