The PhD in Information and Communication Technology is to develop:

Learning Outcomes

At this doctoral Level qualification, as a terminal Degree in ICT field, the graduates should be able to:

  • POE01. Demonstrate an ability to conceptualize, design and implement ICT projects for the generation of significant new knowledge and/or understanding.
  • POE02. Show the ability to relate theory and concepts to evidence in a systematic comprehension and in-depth understanding to draw appropriate conclusions based on the evidence.
  • POE03. Recognize the limitations of the undertaken research and to be able to suggest ways to overcome them in future research.
  • POE04. Communicate effectively with practitioners, researchers, and academia, scholarly communities and society at large through technical and academic writings and presentations.
  • POE05. Extend the boundary of knowledge in the field of specialization through a clearly and effectively written thesis, which has been presented and defended according to International standards.
  • POE06. Use academic and professional behaviour that is consistent with codes of research ethics, legal requirements, and social responsibility.
  • POE07. Produce quality research papers which satisfies international acceptance and standards.
  • POE08. Conduct scientific research effectively.
  • POE09. Apply entrepreneurship and managerial skills, as well as insight into the transferable nature of research skills to other work environments and the range of opportunities within and outside their field.
Entry Requirements
  1. Masters’ degree or equivalent AND the candidate must have at least one degree (Bachelors’ Degree) in the field of Computing
  2. Other qualifications that is recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

English Requirements

For candidates who wish to enter an English-speaking language program, they must pass the English Language Qualification (TOEFL: 600 / IELT: 6.0) or equivalent. Exemption will be granted subject to the University’s Senate according to situations.

Program Structure

The applicant could enroll for this program under [Structure A].

The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.
