A seminar entitled “E-learning and interactive applications; its requirements and needs of the times” was organized by the Faculty of Sharia’ and Islamic Studies Faculty, Kuwait University on Wednesday, 30 December 2009. The seminar was an invitation by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Mubarak bin Saif Al Haajri; Dean of Sharia’ and Islamic Studies Faculty, at Kuwait University in Kuwait. The seminar guests consists of MEDIU’s Honorable Rector; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi and Vice President of External Relations; Dr. Ahmad A. Al-Shiha.
The guests and visitors were welcomed by master of the ceremony, Dr. Bassam Al- Shati and followed by a speech on the importance of E-learning and its needs for society hence inception of E-Learning by Prof. Dr. Mubarak bin Saif Al Haajri. MEDIU’S Honorable Rector, Prof Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi also states in the seminar that the Islamic countries needs for this type of education (E-learning) and he pointed out that “The institutions of higher education and conventional education methods in the Muslim world at large, does not live up to embrace the huge numbers of Islam students according to the international statistic. He later describes that the tremendous revolution in technology has entered all walk in life especially in the education field and he also gave a brief about MEDIU from its inception and until now.
At the end of Seminar, the Honorable MEDIU’S Rector, Prof Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi and Dr. Ahmad A. Al-Shiha received a token of appreciation from Dean of Al-Sharia’ and Islamic Studies Faculty, The Honorable Sheik Yousif Al-Haji. The E-learning seminar was attended by the Deans, Doctorates and a large number of students from Kuwait University and Al-Madinah International University students in Al- Kuwait Center.
