Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) has achieved ‘Tier 4’ Malaysia Rating for University and University College Excellence Rating (SETARA) from the Department of Higher Education which responsible for quality assessment of higher education institutions in both public and private higher institutions. SETARA measures the quality of teaching and learning at level six (undergraduate level) of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).

The results of SETARA University Rankings 2017/2019 were announced on Thursday, 16 November 2017 at the InterContinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in the presence of Honourable Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Haji Idris Jusoh.

A total of 105 universities and university colleges participated in the exercise; 26 mature universities, 49 emerging universities and 30 university colleges. However, out of the 71 universities evaluated, a total of 58 managed to hold a rating of at least 4 stars, where as eight universities achieve Tier 6 (Outstanding), 21 universities get Tier 5 (Excellent) while 29 universities received Tier 4 (Very good).
