Mission
- Provide the students with the latest and comprehensive ICT skills and knowledge for them to be well versed with ICT solutions that enhance organizational performance.
- Prepare the students with the relevant competency and skills to become ICT knowledge workers and also as the employable assets for ICT professionals around the world.
- Strengthen the students’ analytical and critical thinking skills together with the latest technology applications and contemporary practices from around the globe.
- Produce skilled graduates imbued with Islamic values and ICT professionalism and has the ability to contribute to nation building, wealth creation and unity of the ummah.
Objective
- To equip the students with the latest and comprehensive ICT skills and knowledge for them to be able to integrate ICT solutions that enhance organizational performance.
- To enable the students to graduate as competent and entrepreneurial ICT knowledge workers who are employable and marketable to the Industry, locally and internationally.
- To strengthen the students’ analytical and critical thinking skills together with the knowledge of the latest ICT applications and practical solutions adopted by major organizational players in the world.
- To enable the students learn how to inculcate Islamic values into their ICT professionalism for the purpose of nation building, wealth creation and unity of the ummah.
Learning Outcomes
By having a Bachelor of Information Technology, a student should be able to:
- Apply the latest and relevant ICT skills and knowledge as required for the manager of ICT solutions adopted to enhance organizational performance.
- Perform the job and responsibilities of an ICT knowledge worker competently and in an ethical manner in relevant industries, locally and internationally.
- Implement and manage ICT solutions that are adopted upon analytical and critical perspective and in view with the latest ICT applications and implementations in major parts of the world.
- Work professionally, with positive attitude and with pleasant character according to Islamic values, as a qualified ICT knowledge worker for the purpose of nation building, wealth creation and unity of the ummah.
Entry Requirements
- A pass in Shahadah Thanawiyyah Ammah examination (compulsory: taken upon the completion of 12 years primary and secondary schools education); OR
- Two principal passes in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia / Malaysia High School Certificate); OR
- Two principal passes in the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Education System); OR
- A pass in MEDIU’s Foundation programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
- A pass in any Diploma recognized by the Government of Malaysia and/or the Senate of the University; OR
- Five (5) Passes in SPM/SPMV or in the General Certificate of Education ‘Ordinary Level’ (GCE) ‘O’ Level Examination (UK Education System) or their equivalent AND at least 3 years working experience;
- Any other certificate or qualification that is recognized by the University’s Academic Board as equivalent to one of the above.
Language
Where the medium of instruction of a course is English and if applicant’s first language is other than English, applicants are required to obtain a score of either:
- 550 TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or
- 6.0 band IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)
Applicants, who do not have either of the above qualifications, are required to pass MEDIU’s English Placement Test (MEPT) with a 6.0 points.
