The arrival of His Excellency Ir. Asad Farid Abdullah; Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Ministry of Waqaf and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait to MEDIU Headquarters in Shah Alam was welcomed by The Honorable MEDIU’s Rector; Prof. Dr. Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi and MEDIU’s Vice President for External Relations; Dr. Ahmad A. Al- Shiha on Friday morning, 7 May 2010 (23 Jumada 1431H).
An outline of MEDIU’s outstanding achievements in 2009, and the infrastructure of the University, as well as its modern techniques used by the University in e-learning were presented to the guests. During the meeting the university plans to start its conventional teaching (face to face) were also being discussed as well as office tour on the departments of the university.
His Excellency were particularly impressed by the level the university has reached and expressed his admiration and wrote in the guestbook saying “I am pleased to visit the university’s and grateful to see what some see as fantasy, can be reality in terms of its organization and the usage of modern technology in delivering knowledge to students around the world …” He was also given an opportunity for an interview session with the local media.
At the end of the visit, a photograph session took place and a token of gratitude was presented to His Excellency Ir. Asad Farid Abdullah by MEDIU’s Honorable Rector and he was pleased by the hospitality and honor given by the university.
