Courtesy visit by International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Asia to MEDIU

 MEDIU received a visit by the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) for Asia Region on Tuesday, 23 April 2013. The delegation was headed by Mr.Daniel Palmer; General Director of ICDL Asia and Africa Region and Mr. John McCormack; Regional Development Executive Director of ICDL Asia. The delegates were welcome by the Manager of Administrative Affairs Division; Mr.Fuad Ahmad Umar Al’As along with the Director of MEDIU Center for Training and Continuing Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Saleh Faraj.

Mr.Fuad Ahmad welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure of the visit, which comes within the framework of completed efforts after the adoption of MEDIU Center for Training and Continuing Education as an international center that supports the ICDL tests.

Introductory presentations of the vision and objectives, training as well as development courses offered with the latest professional skills, in addition to the mechanism of the training Courses, by using advanced systems in conventional and online methods were presented to the delegates.

Mr. Daniel Palmer expressed his happiness for this move taken by MEDU which results to constructive partnership with the University and access to local events through programs and courses held by the university. He states that MEDIU is the second in Malaysia to access formal adoption in holding international license tests; as the centers of enterprise spread in more than 150 countries around the world where the number of recipients on the ICDL reach almost 12 million people. He also mentioned that that the current version of the international license has become more comprehensive and address all that is new in the world of computers, systems and modern web applications.

At the end of the visit, the delegates toured the lab facilities and the lecture halls of the University and expressed his admiration to the environment and the teaching equipment’s of the University.
