A discourse session in finding ways on the education issues for 2,700 Malaysian-Egypt students returned to Malaysia due to the country’s unstability situation was held on Friday, 6 September 2013 at Ibn Hazim Hall, Department of Higher Education in Putrajaya.
The program involves private universities in Malaysia which caters Islamic Studies programs was organized by the Department of Higher Education, Malaysia Education Ministry. The session was chaired by The Director of Affairs and Student development , Department of Higher Education; Mr. Ibrahim Bin Ali .
Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) were led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman; Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division and Head of Marketing; Mr. Shahrin Ab.Rahman. MEDIU’s expressed their willingness to accommodate the students of Al-Azhar to resume their studies in Malaysia. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mat noted that over 90% of MEDIU’s academic modules for Islamic studies and Arabic were taken from Al-Azhar University. Most of MEDIU’s lecturers are originated from the Middle East regions who graduated from the world well-known Islamic universities such as Al-Azhar University, University of Madinah, Islamic University of Jordan and so forth.
He also added that MEDIU provides e-learning concept for students in its learning system and there is no limit number of students for it. However,the University’s able to accomodate only 600 students for those who intend to resume their studies in the conventional learning method in Shah Alam.
MEDIU’s honored and appreciated the trust given by the Ministry in its efforts to handle the situation and expressed deep appreciation to the Ministry of Education on the confidence towards MEDIU to grab the opportunity to assists the students. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman hopes they will achieve their dreams in becoming the next generations who will contribute to the religion, the nation, and the country.
