Brief objective of program

The aims of the programme are to prepare graduates with:

  1. Demonstrate in-depth mastery of knowledge in the field of Aqidah including the ability to analyse thoughts and ideas from classical (turath).
  2. In-depth mastery of knowledge in a sub-area of Aqidah and are capable of analyzing and synthesizing different opinions among the scholars.
  3. The ability to apply principles, theories and methods of the sub-area of Aqidah in relevant contemporary settings
  4. The ability to carry out comparative studies involving Islamic thought, religions and humanities
Career Prospects

Student can be religious teacher, Sariah consultant, Sariah staff, Islamic banker, Sariah law, adviser Sariah banker, Islamic scholar, Islamic Financial consultant, Islamic Finance Sales, Islamic Teacher, Islamic Educator, Auditor Islamic Banking, Islamic Financial Planner, Medical Islamic Officer,  Admin Islamic Officer.

Admission Requirements
  1. A relevant Bachelor’s degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the university OR any other certificate that is recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognized by the University.
  2. A relevant General Bachelor’s degree (without Honours) with at least one year working experience, and, if deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine determine the applicants eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
  3. The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

STRUCTURE A: RESEARCH

The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.

The applicant studies a total of 10 subjects and prepares a thesis using any of the following study workloads available at the faculty:
