Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held an intellectual discourse session entitled “Fiqh Aqidah”. The one day session organized by the Public Relations division was held on Sunday, May 15 2011 with mass participation from the communities of researchers, teachers and students.
The speakers for the session were Mufti of Wilayah Persekutuan; S.S Datuk Hj Wan Zahidi bin Wan Teh, MEDIU’s Council Member; Dr. Mohammad Radzi bin Othman, UKM representative; Prof Madya Dr.Sulaiman Nordin and KIAS representative; Prof.Mahmoud Daud.
MEDIU’s Honorable Rector, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi officiate the session by giving a welcoming remarks to the speakers and participants as well as a brief information on the understanding of Aqidah and its implementation in the daily life of a Muslim. Honorable Rector also stressed in the three classes of beliefs in Islam (Islam, Iman and Ihsan) and the importance of the Hadith which helps in strengthening the relationship between a Muslim and Allah; while fearing Him and working hard to please Him.
The participants were brief on the correct application of Aqidah and the matters that go against it that are represented by the destructive, false ideas that cause spreading lies against the righteous belief. The participants were also urged not to listen to the voices of falsehood; which try to deform the honorable Islamic heritage of clear creed of monotheism in order to separate it from its honorable past. They also emphasized that more efforts should be placed to communicate with the young Muslims generations and urge them to passionately hold on the Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. At the end of the discourse session, the audience was advised to follow the steps of those scholars and seek knowledge that will bring benefits to the entire nation.
