MEDIU’s CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi chaired the 25th Academic Senate Meeting on Friday, 30 August 2013. The meeting was attended by Deputy CEO from all respective departments and academic deans. Throughout the session, various agenda on academic areas were being addressed and discoursed amongst the senate members.
Among the discussions that have been agreed and approved by the senate members are as follows:
- To approve the termination of 1 student from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences who fail to sit in all final examination papers for semester Feb 2013 without acceptable excuse.
- To approve the termination of 1 student from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences who fail in a major subject; three times in a row.
- To approve the termination of 1 student from the Faculty of Languages with CGPA <1.67
- To approve the termination of 4 students from the Faculty languages, who fail to sit in all final examination papers for last semester Feb 2013 without acceptable excuse.
- To approve the termination of 1 student from the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, who fail to sit in all final examination papers for semester Feb 2013 without acceptable excuse.
- To approve the termination of 1 student from the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences with CGPA <1.67
- To approve the termination of 2 students from the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences, who fail to sit in all final examination papers for semester Feb 2013 without acceptable excuse.
- To approve the termination of 3 students from the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences, who fail to sit in all final examination papers for semester Feb 2013 without acceptable excuse.
- To approve the final results of the Bachelor Program students for intake April 2013 in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
- To terminate 12 postgraduate students from the previous intake and 34 students from intake Feb 2013; whom did not attend the final exams in all subjects in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
- To terminate 11 postgraduate students in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences whom CGPA <2.00.
- To terminate 11 postgraduate students in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences whom CGPA <3.00 for two continuous semesters.
- To terminate 1 student from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences with a ‘Grade F’ three times in a row for the same subject.
- To terminate 22 postgraduate students from the previous intake and 5 students from intake Feb 2013; whom did not attend the final exams in all subjects in the Faculty of Languages.
- To terminate 2 postgraduate students in the Faculty of Languages whom CGPA <2.00.
- To terminate 1 postgraduate students in the Faculty of Languages whom CGPA <3.00 for two continuous semesters.
- To terminate 6 postgraduate students from the previous intake and 7 students from intake Feb 2013; whom did not attend the final exams in all subjects in the Faculty of Education.
- To terminate 3 postgraduate students in the Faculty of Education whom failed in University’s requirement subjects.
- To terminate 3 postgraduate students from the previous intake and3 students from intake Feb 2013; whom did not attend the final exams in all subjects in the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology.
