MEDIU’s students participate for 2013 Global Youth Conference (GYC) at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus

Global Youth Conference (GYC) is an initiative by the Taylor’s University in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia with the main goal to equip the younger generation thinking (Leaders of Tomorrow) with relevant skills and talents in various fields covering aspects of leadership, community service and volunteering, enrich dynamic personal image, intercultural communication as well as entrepreneurship.

The conference which lasted for 2 days, was held on 5-6 October 2013 is one of the avenues for generation of leaders(local and international students) to gather from various universities, private and local educational institutions throughout Malaysia . Various activities such as participation in a series of forums, talks and dialogue session able to assist the generation to prepare themselves to work with the various generations of leaders. Traditionally, each university will be invited to submit entries consisting of students from the Students Representative Council (SRC).

This year, the Global Youth Conference themed “Gen- Y Equipping Leaders for Tomorrow” is a timely platform and strategically to provide our young minds to start their journey as future leaders in the global community .

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) has accepted the invitation to the conference and the student representatives as follows :

1. Mr. Fahim Mohammed Bin Isma’il (President)

2. Mr.Yusuf Salisu Abdullahi (Vice President I)

3. Miss Farah Atiqah (Secretary)

4. Mr. Idris Moussa Idris (Head, Sports Unit)

During the conference, Mr. Yusuf Salisu Abdullahi ( Vice President I) were chosen with the other 200 members of the student representative to share experiences on the Youth Leadership, where he received a gift from the Taylor as a token of appreciation.

The distinguished guest of the conference is the General Secretary(II)Ministry of Education cum Vice-Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus; Prof. Dato’ Dr Hassan Said. Others were CEO of MindValley, Omnicom Media Group (OMG) and Co Epic, Miss World Malaysia and Miss Shawn Wong; a brand certified image consultant.

MEDIU’s SRC would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to MEDIU’s Dean of Student Affairs, Associate Professor Dr Moussa Oumar Keita and Head Department of Counseling and Student Activities; Mahmoud Radwan Hussein Al-Zgool for the constant support since the beginning of the preparation until the eventually .
