A MoU signing ceremony was held between Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) and Maahad Darul Quran, Rusila in Terengganu on Wednesday, 25 May 2016. Maahad Darul Quran is a private Islamic school established in 1985 by the Islamic scholar from Al-Azhar University, Egypt to contribute their knowledge and offering Islamic educations to the local community. At present Maahad Darul Quran have 1060 students from the field of Islamic studies, tahfiz and starting next year they will offer the conventional education up to the SPM level.
The signing ceremony was between MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Student Affairs, Prof Dr. Wan Sulaiman bin Wan Yusoff and Principal Maahad Darul Quran, Tuan Haji Yassin Haji Salleh, . The session was witnessed by Mr. Mohd Sahrin Ab Rahman, MEDIU’s Head of Marketing and Ustaz Jamaluddin Hussain, MEDIU’s Head of Public Relations meanwhile Maahad Darul Quran was represented by the President of Academic Board, Dato’ Haji Husin bin Awang in the presence of Maahad Darul Quran Board Members.
In future, Maahad Darul Quran’s graduates after finishing their Shahadah Sanawiyah will be enroll in the university’s first year of degree’s program. Both parties agreed to collaborate together in the developing an educated Muslim ummah in the field of Al Quran and Sunnah. Among the matters discussed in the session are:
(1) Maahad Darul Quran will be a feeder school for the student in furthering their education.
(2) Maahad Darul Quran may make necessary adjustments in the current syllabus in order to fulfil university’s entry requirements.
(3) MEDIU will offer Maahad Darul Quran students and staff to continue their study in Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies; Maahad Darul Quran may request quota for their students.
(4) MEDIU and Maahad Darul Quran will work together to develop and grow up both institutions for the betterment and benefit.
