Prof. Dr. Ab Rahim’s a design expert in Arabic language curriculum syllabus for school, university level

The charismatic figure article brings Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) Deputy CEO, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim’s life aspired to be a scientist due to his deep interest in the Science subjects with an outstanding results in the Malaysia Lower Certificate of Education (SRP) examination prompted him to further his studies in Kolej Islam Klang in the early 1970s. However, Prof. Dr. Ab Rahim who is from Pulau Rusa, Kuala Terengganu was forced to take literary arts which offers Arabic language due to his outstanding results in the Arabic language subject. Although he was reluctant at first but as he continued his studies in Literary Arts consequently, the interest in the Arabic language grows deeper and was announced as best student of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) which allowed him to be offered a scholarship by Kuwait’s Ministry of Education to further his Arabic language studies at the Kuwait University.

Upon graduation, he served at the Sultan Zainal Abidin Religious Secondary School in his hometown and amongst  other educational institutions he had served were Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA), Universiti Malaya (UM) and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College in Brunei. According to him, Arabic language as well as being known as the language of Al-Quran is famous for its style of beauty and has many advantages over other languages; among the benefits are making it easier for us to understand the Al-Quran and Hadith and supplication. As a Muslim, Arabic language should be studied especially for those studying in Islamic areas as many scholars books are written in Arabic language. His high expertise in Arabic language enabled him to be a supervisor and an examiner of student thesis at several higher institutions in Arabic language studies. “I am very grateful and would like express my appreciation to my father, Ismail Mohd. for guiding me to undertake this language, and my hard work in it was driven by my father’s religious education as an Imam as he was very disciplined in pursuing religious education among his children since childhood.”, says Prof. Dr. Ab Rahim.
