News Article-Learning Arabic has its own privilege (Utusan Melayu 26/3/2018)

Arabic is not only the language of the Arab community in the middle east but is the language associated with the Holy Quran that contains the word of Allah SWT. According to the student of Semester 3, Foundation in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at  Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU), Nurul Zakirah Muhammad Nazman, 22 she aspires to become a lecturer or teacher in the language upon graduating.

“The Arabic language I learned in MEDIU will give me an added advantage in furthering my studies in the same field in the future at AlAzhar University, Egypt. With that decision I hope to be a good teacher one day and able to serve my previous high school at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Kertas, Gombak.”, she told Utusan Melayu recently.

For me, Arabic language is an easy language to learn because as Muslims we are familiar with Quranic verses since childhood. Nurul Zakirah said to those who are interested to master the Arabic language, MEDIU provides a free language foundation program and it is an opportunity not to be missed. What is important is the university’s conducive environment of learning the Arabic language as the lecturers are mostly from the Arab countries and are very committed in teaching. As a Malay nationality, I’m proud of having the opportunity to learn another foreign language beside my mother tongue language and English.
