Research and Development Division Meeting

Research and Development (R&D) Division held its 17th board meeting recently on Tuesday, 18 June 2013 and was chaired by its Chairman; Prof Dr Mohammad bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi and Acting Deputy CEO of Research and Development. The meeting was attended by the Deanship as well as the division committee members. Several agenda and recommendations were being discussed to be submitted to the Executive Management Committee (EMC) for approval.

Among the recommendations are:

–      To assign both Deanship of Library Affairs and Technical Department to place an announcement on the ALIM material pages to request students to use the digital library or to place the ‘library icon’ on each page or article of subjects.

–      To approve the recommendation on the request of contracts extension for two postgraduate students who have been chosen for working as part-time staff for a period of six months.

–      To approve the recommendation of appointing ‘Abdul Rahman Al-Jounaidy’ as Head, Cataloguing and Indexing Department.

–      To approve assigning  ‘Associate Professor Dr Doukoure Massire’ to perform a training course on the system upgrades for the following staff:

  1. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Mujahid
  2. Dr. Salah Abdel Tawab
  3. Sister Rana Abdul Hamid Ahmad Salem’

–      To approve the recommendation of assigning ‘Ms. Rana Abdul Hamid Ahmad Salem’ for the position of Deputy Director of MEDIU Center for Training and Continuing Education (Cairo).

–      To approve the recommendation of establishing a training course from MEDIU Center for Training and Continuing Education for the academician/teaching staff.

–      To approve the recommendation of establishing training courses from MEDIU Center for Training and Continuing Education for administrative staff.

–      To approve the recommendation on the establishment of  sources topics in the unit “Administration of Topics Bank”

–      To approve the recommendation of assigning the Head of topic bank to set the description of this unit after the confirmation of the higher management.

–      To approve the recommendation to update the guideline of the proposal submission; this contains the method on the benefits of the topic bank and its delivering guide to the postgraduate students throughout their email, and through the Department of Orientation and Counseling of the Dean of Student Affairs.

–      To approve the recommendation of assigning  the IT Division to publish the guidelines for the following section:

  1. ALIM student page.
  2. Dean of Postgraduate Board page.
  3. Special page concerning the evidence and the instructions inside the gate of the student.
