Rules & Regulation for Graduated; Terminated and Withdrawal International Students

Based on Student Affairs Division Minutes’ No. MEDIUMYGOV5.10.2(16)19 regarding the issue of the new procedure for graduated, withdrawal and terminated students in On Campus mode for ISU and registrar office; the following term and condition is applied with immediate effect as approved in EMC meeting MEDIUMYGOV5.3.1(16)28 dated 15/07/2016.

Graduated Students

1. All international Students in their final semester must fill up a declaration form to determine their next course of action after graduation. The options given in the form as follows:

a.    Leave Malaysia (should state the date of travel)

b.    Continue study with Mediu.

c.    Continue study in other University in Malaysia.

d.    Work in Malaysia.

2.  The form should include an undertaking letter to ensure the student does not leave Malaysia until all immigration procedure is completed.

3.  After results endorsement, students have to submit all the required documents to ISU in two weeks’ time as the following:

a)   Original passport and travel documents (flight ticket) if for the case of leaving the country only.

b)   Offer letter from other university or work contract if for the case of continuing study or working in Malaysia.

Note: The flight ticket must be a confirmed ticket with advance date for at least 30 days from date of application.

  1. Finance department and registrar office must obtain a clearance from ISU to prove that student has finished all proper procedure before releasing the transcript and certificate.
  2. All graduated student MUST perform the CANCELLATION of Student Visa upon completion of study or to transfer account for continuing study in Mediu.
  3. Should the students fail to comply with; the university will enforce the action as stated in the Undertaking letter.

Withdrawal, Terminated and Missing students

1.  All Withdrawal, Terminated and Missing international students have to fulfill and adhere to the clearance procedure after notifying them by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The student has to fill up the clearance form by choosing one of the following options:

a)  Leave Malaysia (should state the date of travel)

b)  Continue study with Mediu.

c)  Continue study in other University in Malaysia.

d)  Work in Malaysia.

2. The form should include an undertaking letter to ensure the student does not leave Malaysia until all immigration procedure is completed.

3. All Terminated, Withdrawal and Missing international students have to submit all the following documents to ISU in two weeks’ time from the termination or withdrawal date of notification :-

a) Original passport.

b) Travel documents, offer letter or work contract.

4. ISU should submit all documents to Immigration Malaysia for cancellation of visa.

5. Should the students fail to comply with; the university will enforce any of the following action without further notice.

i.   Issuance of written reminder and notices (first warning after one week and second warning after two weeks from the date of the first notification from the Deanship of Student Affairs).

ii.  If student fail to comply with the notification and warning issued, university reserve the right to:-

a)  Lodge a police report to confirm the termination/ withdrawal/ missing.

b)  Preform the cancelation of student visa in university system and immigration record.

c)  Any suitable action determined by Mediu management referring to Malaysian Law.
