MEDIU received a visit by Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang on Thursday, 26 March 2012. The purpose of the visit is to know more about the development of the university and its program. His arrival was welcomed by the Rector of MEDIU, Prof. Dr.Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi and MEDIU’s Senior Management team. The Rector also expressed his delight upon the visit.
Shortly after that, the guest was briefed by the Information Technology Manager, Mr. Sirag El Nour in relation to the education system which is being used in MEDIU. He also added that the speed and sophistication of the latest technology is capable of providing convenience to students around the world. At the briefing the Honorable Dato’Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has been exposed to the latest development of MEDIU which has successfully providing services to over 4,000 students from 90 countries with 70 offered programs such as Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Language, Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Finance, and Faculty of Engineering.
The guest also has visited MEDIU’s Learning Centre which has equipped with a world-class quality education system. He also has expressed his reverence towards the achievement of the facilities owned by MEDIU particularly in the graduate program which has provides facilities for students to choose their respective fields of study with the method that has been introduced. “More impressively, MEDIU has introduced an open form of learning through on-line that can be learned by the student no matter where he or she is,” he said. He also hope that with the existence of MEDIU, it will provide opportunities to students for furthering their studies at the higher level and also help in efforts to disseminate information about Islam more clearly and accurately.
