MEDIU received a delegation from the University of Utara Malaysia (UUM) of Sintok, Kedah on Friday, January 14 2011. The delegation was led by Assistant Vice-Chancellor for College of Business; Prof. Dr. Mahamad bin Tayib accompanied with Dr. Azizi Abu Bakar; Senior Lecturer of Muamalat and Islamic Banking and UUM lecturer, Mr. Farihal. The UUM delegation was welcomed by the Assoc. Prof Dr Mowafak Abdulla Ahmed Al-Kusairy; Deputy Rector of Research and Development; Asst. Prof Dr. Alaa Hussein Mohammed Delaemi; Deputy Dean of Scientific Research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Moussa Oumar Keita; Deputy Dean of Post Graduate and Asia Masad Al-Otaibi; Deputy Dean of Academic Development and Quality. The Honorable Rector; Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi expressed his appreciation and welcomed the delegation to MEDIU.
The visit’s programme was comprised of reviews about Al-Madinah International University as well as exchange of ideas in exploring new and future cooperation between the two parties. The delegation also discussed on a few aspects of opportunities such as holding of regular conferences and workshops as well as preparation of frameworks for it. The Honorable Rector expressed his willingness to provide all the facilities that will enhance the collaboration between the two parties thus it will support to advance the role of MEDIU in the global bridge between the universities in the Middle East and Universiti Utara Malaysia.
