Postgraduate Diploma in Education

Objectives

The programme objectives for this programme are to educate and train learners to become graduate scholar-teachers who are able to:

PO1. Use education pedagogy knowledge and skills for teach and develop curriculum for education subject in schools and Islamic Science subjects in the schools;

PO2. Enhance aims and values of Islamic educational heritage theoretically and practically in various contexts in the schools and the community;

PO3. Practice educational quality standards in teaching and developing curriculum of education subject in schools and Islamic Science subjects based on the learners’ needs and environments;

PO4. Demonstrate a capacity for reflection and critical scholar-teacher’s own practice to anticipate and use innovation for continuing professional development

PO5. Develop general knowledge with diverse individual talents to their fullest potentialities among the students and the community.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the programme, scholar-teachers should be able to:

LO1. Define the educational concepts related to teaching and developing curriculum in the subjects of education subjects in school and Islamic Science.

LO2: Participate in the identification and propose solutions to problems in the field of teaching and learning education subjects in school and Islamic Sciences’ subjects.

LO3. Devise solutions to overcome the problems of education, in facing professional pressure as teachers, and the impact of education on contemporary issues and problems.

LO4. Apply the teaching skills with the appropriate technological means in practicing the process of teaching and learning as well as evaluation methods.

LO5. Foster the development of professional mind-sets which are able to objectively weigh, make decisions, anticipate and accommodate innovation in teaching and developing curricula of education subjects in school and Islamic studies.

LO6. Develop expertise in teaching, coaching, mentoring and building credible models in teaching and developing curriculum of education subject in school and Islamic Science.

LO7. Involve in activities among communities to achieve the role of cooperative learning and self-learning in achieving educational goals.

Entry Requirements
  1. Passed a Bachelor’s degree (level 6, MQF) in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50; or
  2. Graduated from Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in the relevant field which did not achieve CGPA 2.50 but has 5 years working experience in the related fields.
