1. Qualifying students to satisfy the highest standards in Fiqh al-Sunnah.
2. Spreading the Islamic sciences and the prophetic Sunnah, including the goodness and truthfulness they encompass, to all over the world.
3. Strengthening the Islamic belief system in the heart of the Muslims.
4. Strengthening the meaning of brotherhood and sympathy among the Muslims all over the world.
5. Create a generation of scholars and specialists in scientific research and Fiqh al-Sunnah, and highly qualified and thinking and meaningful exchange of contemporary issues and will be serving the Islamic community/society based in its dealings and behavior.

A candidate admitted into postgraduate studies shall posses the following minimum qualification:

1. The applicant shall posses a Master’s Degree in a related field from MEDIU or equivalent from a recognized university.
2. Any other academic qualifications equivalent to [requirement #1], as approved by the Senate.
3. The Board of Postgraduate Studies may impose additional conditions as required.

1. In addition to the entry requirements, the applicant is also required to provide a sufficient level of the Arabic language proficiency in the specializations taught in Arabic language through passing the university’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT) or equivalent. 
2. The Senate may exempt the Arabic language requirement for applicants who have obtained their degrees where Arabic has been used as the main medium of instruction, those who obtained good grades in Arabic language programs from MEDIU or Arabic is their mother tongue.
3. If the student fails to fulfill the Arabic language requirements (per above), or fails to pass an interview, the applicant is required to sit for MEDIU’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT).
